The Scotney Castle Circle

Starting Point: TN3 8DA
One of the highlights of the Tunbridge Wells countryside, the Scotney Castle Circle takes you through rolling fields, woodland paths and the grounds surrounding the historic Scotney Castle.
The route offers a glimpse of the area’s rich landscape, with National Trust members able to extend the walk with a visit to the castle and its beautifully maintained gardens. For a well-earned stop afterwards, head to The Vineyard for a drink or something to eat.
Paddock Wood & Matfield Circular

Distance: 5.3 miles | 8.5km
Duration: 2 – 2.5 hours
Starting Point: TN12 6ER
A peaceful countryside route with plenty of opportunities to spot local wildlife and seasonal changes along the way. Leaving Paddock Wood behind, the walk leads through woodland, orchards and open fields — with bluebells and blossom in spring, and fruit-filled trees and patchwork landscapes as the seasons change.
The circular route can also be extended into nearby Matfield for a little more exploring.
Cranbrook & Sissinghurst Castle Gardens

A gentle countryside walk combining the historic town of Cranbrook with the gardens and grounds of Sissinghurst Castle. Following the High Weald Landscape Trail, the route takes in rolling countryside views and quiet paths through the surrounding landscape.
At just two hours, it’s the perfect walk to pair with a leisurely lunch and time to explore Sissinghurst’s historic gardens and grounds.
Tonbridge to Tunbridge Wells Viaduct Walk

Distance: 4.1 miles | 6.6km
Duration: 2 – 2.5 hours
Starting Point: TN11 0NA
Starting at The Vauxhall Inn in Tonbridge, this route leads through the Tunbridge Wells countryside, passing woodland trails and the hidden viaduct tucked between Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells.
A slightly hillier walk, it’s a chance to explore quieter paths and discover one of the area’s lesser-known landmarks along the way.
